If you add me, please don't bombard me with apps, games, ads, events, group invites or tag me on stuff just so I'll see it (that one was particularly annoying). That'll lead to swift deletion.
I should also warn you that I only log into it periodically. Maybe once a week, if that. So, no, I'm not ignoring you. Just busy with other stuff. Oh, and I do have privacy settings on, so friend requests aren't processed automatically. Bonus points if you send a message first, introducing yourself.
