I did my translations and showed them to my French prof this afternoon, she only made one or two changes, and recommended I see a French vampire film called "Irma Vep." Anyhow, here you go - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_cGoEbZAj8s0ebMPJkLU78NZCcWkKod941-5aEcsLbg/edit?hl=en_US

- much better than silly ole google translator! try translating some english into a foreign language and then back into english. I promise you'll laugh. And then cry - because you'll know that translators just can't be trusted.Little Sockshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08872597370388421893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3287358707617356230.post-40913098834945850522011-10-01T05:05:41.723+10:002011-10-01T05:05:41.723+10:00As far as I know, Calmet is the source for the cla...As far as I know, Calmet is the source for the claim regarding the Duc de Richelieu. Aribert Schroeder refers to Prinz Eugen von Savoyen by Max Braubach, in which it's stated (p. 425) that Richelieu left Vienna on May 5 1728, and finds that this proves that Calmet's claim is apocryphal. Langlet du Fresnoy (as Schroeder also mentions) also refuted the claims concerning Richelieu in Traité historique et dogmatique sur les apparitions (1751), p. xxvii.Niels K. After all, if Google Translate was able to decipher most of it, you should be right. :)Anthony Hogghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05097943063660238778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3287358707617356230.post-73769528725653529432011-09-30T10:19:33.093+10:002011-09-30T10:19:33.093+10:00I'm going to make it my homework to untangle y...I'm going to make it my homework to untangle your translations. Finally, years of French will finally pay off with a single pratical use! And if I can't figure it out (quite possible), I can always ask Madame - she's not as scary as the typical French teacher. Hopefully there's nothing too obscurely "old French" about the text, although from first glance it doesn't seem like it. I'll let you know!Little Sockshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08872597370388421893noreply@blogger.com
